Weird Stuff Growing on a Stump

If anyone has any idea what this stuff is, I would love to get some feedback. I just noticed it yesterday, but I assume it has been growing on there for some time.







This is probably the best picture. Look at the little red flower-like structures.

    it looks to be a type of lichen.. not up on them, but that would be my guess...
